Thank you Dearie!!

This is a posting to thank my dearest Carol on all the effort she has put in to make sure that the last phase of dream home renovation and furnishing goes smoothly :)

Firstly, she spend the whole day cleaning up the house with me yesterday. We did the floors, ( getting ready to welcome our sofa), the wooden laminate floors, kitchen floor, wipe every single shelve of our shoe rack, wardrobe, feature walls, seatee and kitchen cabinet!!! I was so impress with her!! Although I was also there , but I only kay kay wipe wipe here, wipe wipe there.. :P

After a long hard day of cleaning, my dear still got energy to go Great world city to see her study table!! *impress* Well, in the end our effort paid of as we did stubble upon a very nice glass top L shaped study table which Dear really liked.

To get ready for the moving in on V-DAY, (very unromantic hor.. :P), she stayed up till 4am to pack her stuff DESPITE have a long hard days of cleaning and shopping!

So.. after a long day and long nite.. you think she will concuss today right? NO... she went on like a Duracell bunny! She took TP holder and corner shelves (which we did not find suitable for our bathroom) back to Poh Joo (Lavender branch, for the 2nd time becos silly me did not check the invoice to see that they are not opened on sunday and sabo my dear to make a wasted trip) to change for the towel racks and suitable glass shelves so that our contractors can mount them on Wednesday!!

If you are now impressed with her energy level, you now have to admire how quick witted my "BIG PICTURE" dear is, who pointed out one of the dumbest scheduling mistakes which I have made. Being the cheapo me, I rejected the Bedok electrical shop's offer to mount the 26 inch TV for us at 50 dollars, thinking that I can get the samsung contractors ( the guy who is hired by samsung to mount our 32 inch living room tv) to conveniently help us mount our 26 inch in our bedroom at a fraction of $50 that was quoted to us. Sounds like a smart move rite.. NO.... Not when your delivery is scheduled on the SAME DAY!!

If the samsung contractor arrived earlier than the mounting kit delivery (which was suppose to be delivered together with my fridge and washer I bought from bedok), THEN how to mount !!! The "BIG PICTURE" Carol spotted this immediately and went to bedok today to collect the mounting kit just to make sure we have the mounting kit ready. So brilliant right :)

Imagine how many trips this wonderful woman of mine has made today, despite not having enough sleep after a super long day of hard work, just to make sure everything goes wonderfully well. One for the mounting kit and Two for poh joo loh (you might say).. BUT NO... Together with the mounting kit and bathroom accessories, there were bunch of other things that we need to get for the house, like a the brush for the door to keep the dust out, rubber stoppers and also a 4 feet LADDER!! She went to got all this things purchased today and brought to the new place together with her luggage full of clothes, clothes hanger and another bunch of things she bought from Ikea earlier. Only god knows how she can manage so many things in one day!!

Here's to my dearest wife! Dearie, I love you.

Lock for our new door + HITACHI Vaccum Cleaner

Daddy gave me a new lock for our new home!!!....Gosh..It is good stuff ok!!..branded wan, cost $100 plus...Now the only issue is whether it will fit our door or not..cos if the grills of the gate are too narrow, the lock can't be opened...see pics below and u will understand why..

Today also went to buy a 1400W Hitachi Vaccum Cleaner (CV-T40)..cost $99 at Best Denki..Was thinking whether shd I just go check out the brands and models and then go to my fav BEDOK electrical shop to purchase it..but since Dad drove me all the way to Parkway Parade to get them, so think I better buy them at Best Denki at PP...plus the sales person was sooo helpful in explaining the functions to me blah blah blah...so might as well buy lo...He really v good...spend so much time with a customer who purchase a $99 item....whahahha...and at the end of the day, he gave me 2 lucky draw coupons to win a TOYOTA VIOS!!...supposed to only have one coupon for every $50..but he gave me 2 coupons....whahaha...Am I so easily contented??!!! Plus, any purchase at PP will give u a chance to play "SPIN AND WIN"...My mum and I happily went to the information counter to play the SPIN AND WIN...whahah...the wheel has the 12 animals of the Chinese Zodiac Sign...if you gana the PIG (which is the animal of the lunar year of 2007), you will win a PIG soft toy....OMG...and I actually Q to play this silly game...I got 2 chances at the spin...I tried my luck at the first and I asked Mum to try the 2nd chance...Whahahah...ALAS....both chance also BO STRIKE...so BO PIG lor...haha

Anyway before I conclude, here's some tips on getting a VC: -
1) VC Head - Make sure you don't get those head with metal strips if you have laminated floor at home...cos the metal strips at the head will scratch your floor..You shd get those with plastic strip or brush on the head.

2) VC Bag - Some are washable and some are using those disposable bags...One bad pt of using washable bags is that of cos u need wash them and you need make sure it is VERY DRY before u put it back in your VC...given the lazy me..I went for the disposable ones...plus the disposable ones have bigger capacity than the washables bags....woo hoo...also u don't always change the bag...so in my view, I think it is still economical to go for disposable bag ba..

3) Suction power - ranges from 1000W to 2200W...the higher the W, the higher the suction power...But it might be nosier too....hmmm...

The VC tat I bght is considered the lower and cheaper range..but nvm lar..I understand from sis tat VC life span is about 3 years..so maybe get a better one when this VC dies on me???..haha...plus I think I am not a heavy VC user...so prob my first VC can last 5 or more years???!!!.....whahahha

Tat sums up my evening with my MOMO and FOFO.....

HORSE IN 2007

Personality:
Cheerful, quick-witted and popular. With a happy outlook, independent, subjective and self-centered. He is also good at handling wealth (Damn it, I must say I totally agree with this!!!) . He has raw sex appeal (????) rather than straight good looks. Earthy and warmly appealing, he is very perceptive and talkative. His changeable nature may lead him to be hot-tempered, rash and headstrong at times (errr hmmm....no comments...). The unpredictableable horse will fall in love easily and fall out of love just as easily (What???!!!...Don't he dare).

In most cases the Horse will leave home early. If not, his independent spirit will goad him to start working or to take up some career at an early age. An adventurer at heart, still he is noted for his keen mind and ability to manage money. Self-reliant, vivacious, energetic, impetuous and even brash, the Horse is a showy dresser (There are exceptions thou), partial to bright colors and striking designs to the point of being gaudy on occasion.

The horse loves exercise both physical (eerrrr hmmm....no comments again...) and mental. You can spot him by his rapid but graceful body movements, his animated reflexes and fast way of speaking. He responds quickly and can make snap decisions. His mind works at remarkable speed and whatever he may lack in stability and perseverance, he will certainly make up for by being open-minded and flexible. Basically, he is a nonconformist.

The Horse likes: Riddles, Eat in Restaurants (Hubby, when is ur next treat???), Compliments, Conversation, Challenges and Kindness.
The Horse dislikes: Violence, Cold, Cheating, Noise, Bad Food and Lateness (I agree!!!).

Your Luck In Year 2007:

Overall:
Forecast Horse will live with happiness and liveliness the whole year. Everything whether in life or at work will be arrangement with regularity and difficulties will be resolved with a helping hand. Just take such a good opportunity to focus your mind on your own business. Yet you should avoid gloating when you are in luck because strained personal relations will hinder your luck.

Career:
Under the influence of general luck, your career will run full (Congrats dear!!!). Horses’ great capacity in imagination and creativity can be deployed. Youngsters will receive appreciations at work, which can improve your self-confidence greatly. Never quit, and you will be successful in job-hopping pr undertaking. A great social network at work can get you out of troubles which will scatter your strength and hinder you from going further as well.

Love:
Your love life is just like a colourful picture. It will be a life full of imaginations and romances. Single Horses will experience pleasant surprised. Your bona fides will return warm amour. Affected by your luck, family conflicts will be resolved with reciprocal respect. Your good mood will also make you think more about how to improve the life quality. In conclusion, your love life is bright with happiness. (of cos with your wifey ard, love is all ard!!)

Wealth:
Due to the good condition of your work, your income will keep stable additional returns sometimes. (Woo Hoo....!!) Just manage your money reasonably. The only fly in the ointment is your social conflicts which result in financial loss. If you benefit yourself at the expense of others, your image would be damaged, of which the loss could not be estimated by money. Business Horses will enjoy your investing luck but don’t exploit this luck.

MONKEY IN 2007

Personality:
Lively, witty, inventive and intelligent, a fast learner with good memory. Good at problem solving (so true) but can be too clever and become lazy, opportunistic and manipulative. They also know social skills well but can be selfish and egoistic. Also unbeatable in terms of talent and wealth.

Of all the animals in the lunar cycle, the Monkey bears the closest resemblance to the Naked Ape himself, Man. It is therefore no wonder that it should be he who will inherit most of man's intelligence (that's why I dont think I m stupid) as well as his capacity for deceit.

The Monkey is the sign of the inventor, the improvisor, and the motivator in the Chinese zodiac; a charlatan capable of drawing everyone to him with his intimate guile and charm. Being the quick-witted genius of the cycle, he is clever, flexible and innovative. The monkey can solve intricate problems with ease and will be a very fast learner. He can master anything under the sign and usually has the aptitude for being a good linguist. A person born in this year will be successful at whatever he chooses to do. No challenge will be too great for him.

The Monkey likes: Risks, Cooking, Travel, Jokes, Intrigue, Flamboyance and Sunshine.
The Monkey dislikes: Organisation, Illness, Convention, quietness, Responsibility and Failure.

Your Luck In Year 2007:
Overall:
Forecast There may be obstacles, but you can remove them at a critical point. Remember that he who seize the right moment, is the right man. It is time for you to have your way. However, social network is your key. Patience is a virtue (I seriously have no patience...need train this) because it would make you popular, which should be regarded as vital to your luck.

Career:
Monkeys will have exceptional luck in career, which should be particularly taken advantage by youngsters. Entrepreneur Monkeys should take the opportunity to plant your foundation in career. It is also a prefect time for changing jobs. (I did!!!!!!!!!) Studying or working abroad is a good choice, and you might achieve enviable results with helping hands. Avoid argument in cooperation, and then you can maintain your luck.

Love:
Your colourful and romantic love life this year will provide the crowning touch to your luck. Love of youngsters will happen without extra effort. It is time for marriage. Married Monkeys will enjoy your warm family life with less prejudice and more understanding. (I still have some days before the lunar new year..so I can still be unreasonable from now till 18 Feb..too bad honey..:P..) Your leniency towards people disagree with you may be the sweetest fruit you get in love life.

Wealth:
Your wealth luck is relatively mild. Don’t think it over because it is a year for plough and wedding. (So means I need hold my dinner in 2007????) How to use money efficiently may be on the top of an entrepreneur’s list. Keep calm to any fair words because a small mistake will lead to huge losses.

Designer Chair

Today Hub and I went to Courts at Suntec and one of the black designer chair caught my eye...I really like it a LOT...REALLY!!....but too bad, it is quite pricy at $699 for one..one armchair $699...hmmm...and if we are buying 2 for our cosy corner...that will add up to almost $1.4K...but I have decided...if it is really out of budget, I shall buy one only for my study table chair...Black also matches the black glass table that I am planning to get.....wooo hooo....

Here are some designer chairs that I really fancy: -

This is known as the egg chair.

This is known as the bubble chair

This is known as the marshmellowmini.

This is known as the eileengray chair.

This is known as the coronachair.

Little things tat jazz up the whole place...

Work on the details and you can jazz up even the most plain and boring place at home ... and I like details..(thou I am the big picture person)...

This pic is taken at IKEA...and the highlight is the notice board...and we have bght it!!!!

Hubby and I have decided. The notice board will be used to put up: -
1) daily love notes =P
2) outstanding credit card, utilities, telecom etc bills...
3) to do notes
4) FYI notes

and lastly, it shall be our mode of communication during our quarrels...just in case I don't wana talk to him....whahahhaa

Dear folks,

As seen from the previous post, you can see that my house is transforming!! I have not gone to my new place to check out the lights but just based on pictures, I fell in love with them already!!

Hubby and I had a hard time choosing the lights and had to go from places to places just to find reasonably priced yet mei mei lights...In the end, we still went back to the first place that we checked out to make our light purchases...M glad that the tough periods are going to end soon...

Of cos the person with the most credit is Hubby.
1) for bearing with me when i flare up
2) for breaking his principles and let me take cab
3) for making wise choices (thou sometimes I still think I have better taste than him..opps)
4) for managing the budget so well
5) for making trips alone to buy some stuffs despite his busy schedule (can't help it since he is staying at central....opps..)
6) for his coordination efforts with Angeline, aircon man etc...
7) for his constant visits to our new place to check out the progress..(he shd since it is only 2 blocks away...opps...again)
